About The Position

Boundary Zone, Inc. is recruiting for an experienced Field Engineer / Survey Crew Chief with Construction Staking and Residential Development experience near Tampa, Florida. This role requires a strong understanding of land surveying and civil engineering principles, with a focus on construction staking and residential development. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the accurate completion of field layout and engineering measurement surveys, utilizing proper equipment, and communicating effectively with clients and project managers. This position also involves mentoring survey field assistants and maintaining company equipment and vehicles. The role requires efficient travel to job locations and staying current with industry practices. A valid driver's license and a good driving record are essential.

Requirements

4 or more years of Civil Engineering, Construction Layout, Survey Crew chief experience.
Knowledge of surveying procedures.
Microsoft Office/Outlook Computer (data collection basics, basic CAD skills).
Boundary terminology.
Construction terminology.
Map and plan interpretation.
Expertise in data collection.
Surveying calculations.
Excellent supervisory skills.
Excellent communication skills.
Critical thinking.
A willingness to learn on the job.
Must be able to work independently and with teams.
Familiarity with Trimble surveying equipment.
Land surveying: 4 years (Required)
AutoCAD: 4 years (Required)
Driver's License (Required)

Nice To Haves

Having your own gear and Total Station, a plus
Proficiency in AutoCAD
Interest in becoming a Professional Civil Engineer (PE) or Engineer in Training (EIT)
Interest in becoming a Professional Surveyor and Mapper (PSM) or Land Surveyor in Training (LSIT)
