About The Position

As an Alstom VIE Field Engineer, you will be qualified to undertake activities around the three main site areas for a Turn-key and Signaling Projects to deliver an APM (Automated People Mover) solution. This role aims to improve the transportation experience for the population through Alstom's top-notch technology. In this program, you will rotate for 6 months in each function: Project Management, Installation, and Test & Commissioning, and will be assisted by an experienced manager to ensure the success of your mission.

Responsibilities

  • Project Management (6 months): Deploy and ensure the application of Project Management PM2020 processes. Support the Site Project Manager in managing internal interfaces with project engineering, procurement, supply chain, installation, and T&C. Learn and apply Earned Value Management (EVM) concepts like Tender baseline, EAC, ETC, and AC to estimate project financial performance. Support the elaboration and approval of the project schedule and plan project activities and resources. Update ODYC and issue the release baseline sheet. Connect with ITC Manager, Test Lead, PrEM, and stakeholders for activity planning. Learn to conduct workload reviews comparing activity demand versus resource availability. Ensure the DFQ cycle is followed, and action items are logged and resolved. Control and communicate NCR and defects. Support the supervision of contractors, vendors, and project resources. Report needs for competence and training. Ensure EHS compliance. Review and update the Project Plan. Prepare monthly Project Reviews. Summarize project threats to the critical path and draft action plans. Commit to project milestones. Draft monthly reports and review them with the Project Manager. Learn to use Project KPIs. Support the PM in preparing documentation for the MPR.
  • Installation Supervising (6 months): Deploy and ensure the application of Installation processes by the ITC team. Support the Site Project Manager and ITC Manager in managing internal interfaces and external technical interfaces with Partners, Third Parties, and Customers for Installation activities. Support the elaboration and approval of the 4-weeks Lookahead. Represent Alstom at Access meetings with the customer or consultants. Plan installation activities and resources. Elaborate and review EHS Hazard Analysis for each planned activity. Ensure ITC activities are carried out correctly and on time, according to plan, budget, and contract requirements. Write and keep updated method statements for the installation scope. Supervise installation contractors. Execute FMIs on-site per Engineering instructions. Proactively develop resource competency. Ensure EHS compliance. Prepare and execute installation supervision and PICO tests. Ensure defect identification and logging in the RTC database. Lead activities with a clean and well-planned execution strategy. Check compliance of Signaling systems against specifications and contractual requirements. Commit to project milestones. Provide daily reports through periodic KPIs. Resolve technical deviations. Record NCRs and report results. Ensure design-related issues are reported in adequate tools. Issue REX on ITC activities and propose updates/improvements.
  • Test & Commissioning (6 months): Deploy and ensure the application of Installation and T&C processes by the ITC team. Support the ITC Manager in managing internal and external technical interfaces for T&C activities. Support the elaboration and approval of the 4-weeks Lookahead. Represent Alstom at Access meetings. Plan ITC activities and resources. Elaborate and review EHS Hazard Analysis for each planned activity. Ensure ITC activities are carried out correctly and on time, according to plan, budget, and contract requirements. Write and keep updated method statements for the installation and T&C scope. Supervise installation contractors. Proactively develop resource competency. Ensure EHS compliance. Prepare and execute tests, log analysis, and test reports. Ensure defect identification and correction (trouble shooting). Lead activities with a clean and well-planned test execution strategy. Check compliance of Signaling systems against specifications and contractual requirements. Commit to project milestones. Provide daily reports through periodic KPIs. Resolve technical deviations. Record NCRs and report results. Ensure design-related issues are reported in adequate tools. Issue REX on ITC activities and propose updates/improvements.
