MasTec Skillbridge Program Overview: DOD SkillBridge Internships are an opportunity for transitioning service members to gain valuable civilian work experience through an individual internship during their last 6 months of service, for up to 180 days. Participants are not eligible for compensation while in the program, as they continue to receive military compensation and benefits as active-duty service members in a permissive TDY status. During this program, the service member will gain industry and organizational knowledge through daily business interactions and job assignments. Work is performed under direct supervision. Our DOD SkillBridge Internship is open for all active-duty service members within the last 180 days of their service contract with commanding officer approval. The service member will receive on-the-job training and support a work schedule equivalent to 40 hours per week. This is an unpaid, non-benefit eligible internship position in partnership with the DOW SkillBridge program. Position Summary: Field Engineer I, II or III will participate in inspecting and monitoring construction activities to ensure completion per the plans and adheres to all specifications and codes required. This position will notify project management of significant issues and complete documentation to attest to satisfactory completion of inspection or test activities per project specifications. Employee must develop a thorough understanding of the project scope and schedule as they relate to their specific assignment. Location & Travel Details: This is an onsite DOD SkillBridge Internship Program located in Texas and Ohio.
