About The Position

This posting is for openings NexTier currently has for Field Engineer I & II supporting Frac operations out of Mill Hall, PA and the work locations span the tri-state area of PA, WV, & OH. The role involves setting up data acquisition software, monitoring operations, coordinating with vendors, assisting with new technology implementation, addressing customer technical questions, and promoting safety values. The position requires working outdoors in various weather conditions and frequent travel to work sites.

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering discipline.
Able to proficiently use Microsoft Office applications, Excel, MS Word, etc.

Must have valid state-issued driver’s license and be eligible to drive Company vehicles including ability to meet requirements of Company’s Vehicle Use Agreement and Driving Policy.
Minimum nine months of field engineering experience in oil and gas, preferably in hydraulic fracturing. (For Field Engineer 1)
Completion of Engineering Training or equivalent. (For Field Engineer 1)
Completion of assigned Engineering Training. (For Field Engineer 2)

Nice To Haves

Intermediate knowledge of data acquisition software. (For Field Engineer 1)
Completion of assigned Engineering Training. (Technical Handbook training, data acquisition software, basic frac fluid knowledge, pump operation standard training, and basic math and computer skills training). (For Field Engineer 1)
Advanced knowledge of data acquisition software. (For Field Engineer 2)

Responsibilities

Setup stream-out and data acquisition software in the data van to record and transmit each stage’s treatment parameters to the Performance Center prior to starting a stage.
Coordinate with district supply chain and vendors to verify all orders are delivered in a timely manner throughout the job.
Monitor all pump parameters, treating pressure, and rate during treatment and communicate with supervisor and customer representative if there are any problems or concerns.
Assist with the rollout and implementation of new technology and continuous improvement projects.
Participate in special projects as assigned.
Address any technical questions or concerns from customers related to reservoirs, fluid systems or software.
Be knowledgeable on equipment operations, limitations, and components.
Assist maintenance and engineering with root cause analysis.
Assist with data van rigging up/down and maintain cleanliness in data van and assist field operations with rig-up/down as needed.
Promote HSE values and perform job duties as per NexTier’s safety policy and standard operating procedures as well as implement best practices for field operations equipment.
Perform all other duties assigned.
