About The Position

The Field Engineer assists construction project team members in various areas to include but not limited to preparation of field-related reports including scoping, estimating, procuring, and submittals. This is an entry level position for individuals interested in project management.

Requirements

  • Some experience in the construction industry with a commercial or industrial general contractor
  • Knowledge of construction means and methods
  • Must demonstrate a strong ability to: Adapt and be flexible to frequent changes in a fast-paced work environment
  • Demonstrate integrity consistent with Centennial’s core values
  • Collaborate and work effectively in a team environment with people of various backgrounds and styles
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, to include clear, concise, and professional presentation of information
  • Adapt to the constantly evolving world of technology, design, means and methods, systems may include but not limited to: Microsoft Office suite, ProCore, Adobe, and BlueBeam

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with estimating, design, and scheduling software highly desired
  • Experience with blueprint reading a plus but not required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field highly desired

Responsibilities

  • Assists with daily reports and other field assignments
  • Assists with writing scopes of work and performing job walks
  • Provides support with project buyout, procurement of subcontractors, materials, and equipment
  • Prepares AutoCAD as-built drawings and operation and maintenance manuals
  • Assists Project Manager during bid negotiations
  • Assists in the development of detailed line-item takeoffs and pricing
  • Assists with entering line items into Unit Price Book software using RS Means or other line items estimating tools
  • Prepares bid documents for subcontractors
  • Assembles subcontractor quotes for review
  • Gathers subcontractor safety information
  • Assists in tracking progress payments and invoicing from subcontractors
  • Prepares subcontracts and other subcontractor safety information
  • Helps develop and maintain project schedules
  • Ensures compliance with Centennial’s Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) guidelines, and procedures along with all local requirements (OSHA, USACE EM385.1.1, etc.)
  • Responsible for driving between project sites that are often miles apart or miles from the assigned office location.
