About The Position

The Field Engineer position requires a minimum of 1+ years of experience as a Field or Survey Engineer, combined with a Bachelor of Science in Construction or Engineering or a similar field of study. The role involves fully supporting all day-to-day dredge operations in the field, prioritizing tasks, and strong communication. The Field Engineer must efficiently and consistently execute and deliver basic daily dredge reporting requirements while performing required tasks. This includes fulfilling CQC obligations for most USACE contracts. Familiarity with Dredge Pack for project start-up is necessary. The FE should be competent and confident to lead mid-level client meetings. The position includes ongoing training and 6-month assessments.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor of Science in Construction or Engineering, or similar field of study
  • Ability to become CQM Certified and CQCSM Experience with US Army Corps of Engineers
  • 1+ years of Field Engineer experience
  • Must have reliable transportation, a car allowance is provided.
  • Ability to proactively identify issues and formulate solutions; overcome obstacles to find solutions to problems; includes the ability to work independently.
  • Must be able to write procedures, policies, reports, and correspondence.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as contractual requirements, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures and policies.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to interact and form strong working relationships with individuals from all disciplines.
  • Ability to solve practical problems
  • Ability to interpret written and oral instructions
  • Computer skills—Proficient in using Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Outlook

  • Must be able to successfully pass all pre-employment screening (drug test, fit test) in addition to random drug and alcohol testing.
  • Must have a current valid driver’s license, and clear MVR
  • Must be authorized to work in the US; this position is not eligible for a VISA sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Dredge Pack and can build out a project for start-up.
  • Competence and confidence to lead mid-level meetings with the client.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing work plans and schedules for dredging activities.
  • Support the design and layout of dredging areas using AutoCAD.
  • Participate in pre-construction meetings, pre-dredging surveys, and assessments to meet project requirements.
  • Field/marine dredge operations
  • Conduct hydrographic surveys to measure seabed levels and monitor dredging progress using Hypack.
  • Support dredging operations on-site to ensure tasks are performed safely and effectively.
  • Troubleshooting DQM and survey equipment, including calibration and maintenance.
  • Analyze survey and operational data to adjust dredging activities as needed.
