About The Position

The Baker Hughes Internship Program is designed for students pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree to gain hands-on work experience. Interns will gain insights into processes, systems, and practices that ensure customer needs are met through flawless execution and the application of leading-edge technology. Participants will engage in focused training, team meetings, project work, and presentations. Interns will be supported by a buddy and manager, receiving coaching and mentoring to develop their skills. The program also provides exposure to Baker Hughes' Health, Safety, and Environment (HS&E) culture, and its commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Engineering, Technology, Mechanics, or another STEM-related field.
  • Maintained a GPA of 2.75 or higher out of 4.0 (or equivalent).
  • Fluent in oral and written English with effective communication skills.
  • Able to relocate for the duration of the internship (locations vary).
  • Authorized to work in the United States and maintain work authorization without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Completing internal projects to deliver customer outcomes and identify business improvements.
  • Collaborating with experienced engineers to assist in various field operations, such as drilling, well testing, or equipment maintenance.
  • Collecting data from field activities and assisting in analyzing it to identify trends or issues.
  • Troubleshooting through problem-solving tasks related to field operations and equipment.
  • Inspecting and maintaining equipment to ensure it is in proper working order.
  • Keeping detailed records and documentation of field activities, equipment inspections, and safety measures.
  • Applying Health, Safety, and Environment (HS&E) standards and procedures in all situations to ensure compliance.
