About The Position

Frontier-Kemper, a Tutor Perini Company, is seeking an Field Engineer Intern to join our Manhattan Tunnel Project in New York, New York. About Frontier-Kemper Excellence in Underground and Heavy Civil Construction At Frontier-Kemper, we specialize in heavy civil construction and underground mine development. Frontier-Kemper-Tutor Perini joint venture was awarded the Manhattan Tunnel Project, part of the Hudson Tunnel Project (HTP). A $1.18 billion design-build contract from the Gateway Development Commission for the HTP which aims to enhance rail resiliency by adding two new tracks between New York and New Jersey and rehabilitating the storm-damaged North River Tunnel. The project includes designing and constructing twin 30-foot diameter, 700-foot-long tunnels under the Hudson River, connecting to existing tunnels beneath Hudson Yards, and an access shaft at 12th Avenue, later serving as a ventilation facility. Requirements

  • Must be currently enrolled in a civil engineering, construction management or similar major and be completing either your sophomore or junior year
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy; ability to manage tasks diligently.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information responsibly.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Assist Project Managers with technical compliance and oversight of construction activities and field operations
