About The Position

The Field Engineer Helper will assist field crews by collecting or creating points from contract documents to establish field layout for various purposes. This could include but not limited to the following: horizontal layout of duct, pipe, conduits, elevations, sleeves, wall layout, and hangers. Also learning to operate Trimble equipment. They will work closely with the Layout Technicians and VDC team and learn to become a fully qualified Field Engineer.

Requirements

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Must possess good work ethic and be accountable for deadlines
Must be a self-starter
Ability to work and communicate with others
Must have a satisfactory driving record, criminal record, and ability to pass a drug screen
Requires overtime as needed

Nice To Haves

Background in survey work or licensed surveyors that want to grow in their field of work.
HS diploma or GED equivalent
CAD experience
Prior military experience

Responsibilities

Assist field crews by collecting or creating points from contract documents to establish field layout for various purposes.
Horizontal layout of duct, pipe, conduits, elevations, sleeves, wall layout, and hangers.
Learn to operate Trimble equipment.
Work closely with the Layout Technicians and VDC team.
Maintain equipment on a daily basis and stay current with annual calibration.
Perform other duties as assigned.
