This Field Engineer role assists the Project Engineer as the technical source of information for the project, responding to questions about drawings, specifications, shop drawings, and change orders. Responsibilities include assisting in writing change orders, RFIs, meeting minutes, and reviewing submittals. The position requires maintaining effective professional relationships with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers. This role has three steps (I, II, and Senior) indicating progression of skill and experience, with Step II for employees with 2 years of experience or experience on larger projects. The position is located at a remote camp-style project site and operates on a rotational schedule of 19 days on and 9 days off.

Requirements

Ability to assume responsibility, interface and communicate with others is essential.
Entry-level position that normally requires a four-year construction-related degree or equivalent technical/field experience.
Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) proficiency.
Must have minimum 1-2 years of electrical knowledge.

Responsibilities

Assists Project Engineer in developing and maintaining as-built drawings and other work tasks.
Assists with or reviews and processes submittals, change orders, RFIs, and budget forecasting.
Ensures the timely and appropriate generation, collection, distribution, storage, retrieval and ultimate disposition of meeting agendas, RFIs and daily reports.
Ensures the administration of the project quality management plan and demonstrates and reinforces a culture of safety throughout the project.
May assist in the calculation of daily production rates and unit costs for self-performed work.
Participates in risk management including identification, analysis, response planning and monitoring and control on a project.
Demonstrates competency in understanding the environmental control processes for the project and takes corrective actions when necessary.
May be responsible for overseeing/managing the BIM (Building Information Modeling) Coordination between Subcontractors and Designers.
May be responsible for the documentation and submittal for the LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Certification of a building and for creating and updating Digital Record Drawings (ORD).
May provide lines, grades and layout as required for the project while maintaining an organized logbook.
May provide weekly quantities, maintains accurate quantity logs and reports quantities in compliance with the cost control manual.
Perform elements of the processes involved in budgeting and controlling costs so that the project can be completed within the approved budget.
Demonstrates business acumen within area of responsibility.
Provides support to superintendents required for the execution of the work and assists in the resolution of field problems as necessary.
