ETIC is currently seeking an experienced Field Engineer to support environmental and remedial construction projects. This role includes interpreting technical plans, assisting with estimates and proposals, coordinating field operations, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. This position can be based in the office or working from home, but must be within daily commuting distance to jobsites throughout the San Francisco Bay Area.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
  • 2-5 years of industry experience.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite computer applications (Word, Excel, Project).
  • Great decision making, planning, organizing, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated individual who can work as part of a team in a hybrid work environment.
  • Great written and oral communication and comprehension skills.
  • Must meet company defined, pre- employment physical, alcohol/drug screen and background check.
  • Valid California Driver’s License with a clean driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency with Revu Bluebeam preferred.
  • HAZWOPER 40-hour training preferred (but not required).

Responsibilities

  • Using technical expertise, read and interpret project plans, specifications, and related documents to break down scopes of work and determine project needs.
  • Provide support with estimate and proposal preparation, including performing quantity takeoffs, requesting subcontractor and vendor quotes, and performing a comparative analysis of received quotes.
  • Assist with writing technical approaches and scopes of work for proposals.
  • Support project managers with project planning and scheduling, including preparation of preconstruction submittals, purchase orders and task orders.
  • Create, organize, and maintain field paperwork for on-going projects.
  • Coordinate material and equipment deliveries for on-going projects.
  • Prepare and update construction schedules using critical path method tools (MS Project, etc.).
  • Support project managers with cost tracking to monitor budgets for on-going projects and assist with change order preparation, as needed.
  • Utilize independent judgment when performing stormwater compliance inspections, soil sampling, water sampling, or air monitoring, as needed.
  • Ensure all field procedures and safety protocols are followed to comply with ETIC and client specific requirements and deadlines.
  • Measure and document quantities of work completed each day.
  • Assists with project control, survey, and layout.
  • Attend safety meetings and provide support in recognizing and supporting positive safety habits and practices on the job site.
  • Assist with maintaining a clean and compliant job site.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of client/regulatory requirements and make certain client/regulatory compliance is being met on all assigned projects.
  • May require out-of-town travel for several weeks at a time for up to several months per project.
