About The Position

The Field Engineer - Civil (Concrete) will provide project field engineering support with work planning and packaging, material management, quantity verification and validation, safety and quality control, technical inspection and testing knowledge, and coordination of system turnover. This role contributes to ensuring field engineering activities operate safely, are complete, and conform to quality standards and project requirements. The position is for a long-term (camp) assignment in Pecos, TX, and is contingent upon project award. The project involves building one of the largest gas-fired power generation facilities in the U.S. in response to the growing demand for data centers.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree (or international equivalent) and 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in the installation of large reinforced concrete structures, precast components, and specialized or non-standard formwork systems.
  • Working knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving ability.
  • Demonstrated commitment to Environment, Safety and Health (ES&H) and Quality.
  • Able to work extended work schedules and night shift as required to support the project execution plans and schedules.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience with Advanced Work Packaging (AWP) is preferred.
  • Experience with Simple Cycle or Combined Cycle facilities is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares construction drawings and sketches.
  • Interfaces in planning construction methods and procedures.
  • Initiates requisitions for field purchases.
  • Prepares quantity takeoffs of field purchased material and equipment.
  • Verifies commodities on quantity tracking systems or other computer database systems as required.
  • Ensures zero accident philosophy and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craft and others when in the operational area, and tools and equipment are in safe condition and operated safely.
  • Proactively considers continuous learning or show interest to pursue appropriate learning activities.
  • Develops firm understanding of system and area scoping and drawings required for package development.
  • Reviews and approves inspection test plans.
  • Coordinates reviews of subcontractor submittals.
