About The Position

The position of a Drafting Technician is responsible for creating and redlining piping isometrics and piping and instrumentation diagrams. A Drafting Technician will perform work as required to maximize the quality of the Company while maintaining the specified expectations of the client and ensure safe working environment while performing work and will conduct all Company business in accordance with Company policies and procedures. This position will maintain professionalism throughout all business dealings, both internally and externally.

Requirements

Technical Drawing, Petrochemical/refinery or related fields.
Familiarity with inspection isometrics and P&ID’s.
Knowledge of computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) software and its features; database searches, proficiency in the use of calculation, simulation and graphic design software.
Basic jobsite follow-up (coordination of players, organization, checking of invoices, writing of reports).

Nice To Haves

Petrochemical/refinery experience.
First Aid and CPR trained.
Class “A” driver’s license and a clean MVR.

Responsibilities

Perform field verifications on piping and fixed equipment per the provided documents.
Interpret piping isometrics and P&ID’s.
Create and redline piping isometrics and P&ID’s.
Develop plans in accordance with project specifications.
Study various work documents (sketches, data, specification sheets, P&ID’s)
Develop plans, drawings, diagrams and models in accordance with effective specifications, norms and techniques.
Review, evaluate and implement recommendations for improved methods or procedures.
Ensure all work is performed in accordance with applicable environmental, health, safety and building codes as required by federal, state, local and refinery regulations.
Maintain poise and focus under time constraint and adverse conditions.
Attend and complete trainings as required by the Company and client.
Pass all required drug/alcohol testing and background requirements.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
