About The Position

Planned Parenthood Votes! South Atlantic is hiring a Field Director to manage their offices in North Carolina. This role involves recruiting, training, and managing a team of local canvassers to contact voters. The Field Director will work with the director team to build an office from the ground up, train canvassers in the field while also canvassing themselves to lead by example, communicate goals to staff, and manage campaign reporting. The position reports to the Lead Director. The organization's mission is to ensure everyone can live, thrive, and raise families in healthy communities, advocating for reproductive health care decisions to be made by individuals, not politicians.

Requirements

Leadership experience, ability to motivate, grow, and manage a large team
Eagerness to lead from the front and canvass several days a week
Extreme attention to detail and a proven ability to instill that quality in others
Self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills
Strong passion for community organizing and fostering civic engagement
Track record of equity and inclusion
Ability to work long hours, including evenings and weekends

Nice To Haves

Experience running paid canvasses or managing paid employees
Familiarity with VAN and MiniVAN
Experience working in underserved or marginalized communities
Facilitation experience
Local knowledge/experience
Experience in and/or passion for reproductive rights

Responsibilities

Manage a team of 40-60 hourly staff who will canvass door to door to talk to voters about reproductive rights
Canvass yourself several days a week to train staff and drive office goals
Set goals and hold staff accountable to them
Train and provide ongoing motivation and support to staff
Identify, promote, and train a leadership team
Build a diverse team where staff feel respected while fostering a culture of equity and justice
Implement quality control measures to ensure the integrity of the work
Maintain a healthy and safe working environment for all staff
Develop strategic plans to reach targeted voters in assigned locations
Manage administrative duties, including reporting data, record keeping, processing payroll, and distribution of materials
