About The Position

PublicWorks1 is seeking a Traveling Data Collection Specialist to assist cities and counties across the U.S. in improving their infrastructure through advanced technology. This role involves extensive travel (95%), with specialists spending most weeks on the road from Monday to Friday, collecting roadway data using 360° imaging, GPS, and GIS tools. The ideal candidate enjoys travel, performs hands-on work, is organized, and possesses strong communication skills.

Requirements

• Must live in Cache Valley Utah and be willing to travel 95% of the time (weekly travel)
• Strong navigation and map-reading skills
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Comfortable using tablets (iPads)
• Excellent organization and multitasking abilities
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to lift 50 pounds

Nice To Haves

• Previous travel-heavy or field-based work experience
• Familiarity with GIS, mapping, or data collection tools
• Bachelor’s degree

Responsibilities

• Travel extensively across the U.S. by plane and car
• Collect roadway and infrastructure data using 360° imaging technology
• Navigate routes and provide directions to drivers
• Support pavement condition assessments for municipal projects
• Communicate professionally with city and county personnel as needed
• Track travel details, receipts, and project data
• Stay organized and reliable in a fast-paced, travel-heavy schedule
