About The Position

Facility Maintenance Team Member maintains the playing field to ensure optimal playability and player safety. This position performs demanding physical labor outdoors.

Requirements

• Must have experience working with turf sports fields, sports facilities and associated grounds and equipment
• Knowledge/experience maintaining natural grass and synthetic surfaces
• Available and willing to work long hours and varying shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to follow and give written and oral instructions
• Ability to promote a positive self-image and lead by example

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of irrigation repairs and maintenance is a plus

Responsibilities

• Mowing grass, edging, watering, chalking foul lines, and painting the batters' boxes and pitching rubber
• Leveling and dragging the infield, raking the pitcher's mound, and filling holes to maintain uniform playing surfaces
• Rapidly deploying and removing the infield tarp to protect the field from rain and adverse conditions
• Setting up and removing batting cages, L-screens, and bases for pre-game practice
• Sweeping home plate, raking the infield dirt between innings, and touching up the field as needed
• Assist all field-related projects including but not limited to sod replacements, new field installations, aerification, top dressing, etc.
• Assist in the completion of needed off-season renovation projects on all aspects of athletic field
• Complete special projects and daily assignments as directed by management
