About The Position

Koch Finishing Systems designs and delivers innovative surface finishing solutions used across industries from automotive to aerospace. They are seeking a Field Control Technician (Start-up & Commissioning) to support the installation, commissioning, and service of automated finishing systems throughout the U.S. This is a field-based position with frequent travel; candidates can reside anywhere in the U.S. as long as they meet the airport-proximity requirement.

Requirements

3+ years of experience in field service, electrical/controls work, mechanical assembly, or equipment commissioning
Familiarity with industrial controls (PLCs, HMIs, sensors, relays, etc.)
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, electrical schematics, and wiring diagrams
Strong problem-solving and communication skills
Self-motivation and ability to work independently in the field
Willingness and ability to travel frequently
Must live within 1 hour of a major or regional airport
Valid U.S. driver's license and clean driving record

Nice To Haves

Master Electrician license preferred

Responsibilities

Conduct equipment commissioning, calibration, and functional testing
Troubleshoot and debug industrial control systems, including sensors, PLCs, HMIs, and related components
Respond to field service calls and resolve technical issues on-site
Assist with mechanical installation and start-up of new systems at customer sites
Perform preventive maintenance, system audits, and support upgrade projects
Interface directly with customers, providing technical guidance and training as needed
Work closely with project management and engineering to ensure successful installs
Document service activities and maintain detailed reports
Travel up to 75% (domestic, with occasional international opportunities)
