About The Position

We're recruiting for a Field Construction Technician to be part of our team providing high-quality Tuff Shed products. The essential functions of this position include assisting in the safe delivery of Tuff Shed storage buildings, performing customer service warranty repair tasks on customer sites, and providing feedback to management. The role also involves delivering excellent customer service, assisting with off-site special events, and maintaining Tuff Shed vehicles and tools.

Requirements

General knowledge of the construction industry, basic carpentry skills, basic roofing skills, and basic painting skills.
Ability to read a tape measure, working drawings, and speed square.
Ability to operate air compressors, air tools, hammer, saw, drill, and other basic power tools.
Proven customer service and problem-solving skills.
Ability to read, write and understand instructions given orally, in writing and/or in diagram form.
Ability to effectively communicate at all levels, including customers, business partners, suppliers, co-workers, managers, and the general public.
Ability to use mobile application systems, as required, for the purpose of scheduling, reporting, etc.

Nice To Haves

Experience driving a flatbed truck, box truck and/or towing trailers, unloading, and transporting materials is a plus.
Experience as a “big box” delivery driver is a plus.
Experience with vehicle inspections.

Responsibilities

Assists in the safe delivery of Tuff Shed storage buildings to Home Depot stores, customer properties, and retail sales lots.
Performs customer service warranty repair tasks on customer sites effectively, efficiently and with courtesy and within the scheduled timeframe.
Provides feedback to management team – determining whether concerns are covered warranty issues that can be resolved but chargeable or a completion issue.
Delivers excellent customer service when dealing with Tuff Shed current (and prospective) customers.
Assists with off-site special events such as Home Shows.
Assists with upkeep of HD displays and marketing materials.
Inform the OM of service/maintenance requirements for Tuff Shed vehicle.
Reports defective, worn, or inoperable tools (electric, pneumatic, consumables, extension cords, air hoses, etc) to Management in a timely manner.
Ensures vehicle’s GPS device remains connected and operable at all times.
