About The Position

Brayman Construction Corporation is seeking motivated Field Construction Technicians to support our heavy civil and specialty geotechnical project teams. This is a field-based role for someone who enjoys construction, working outdoors, solving problems, and learning how complex projects are built. An engineering degree is not required. You'll work directly with Superintendents, Project Managers, and field crews to help track production, maintain project records, support quality, and promote safe work practices.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Valid driver's license
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to work safely on active construction sites
• Willingness to travel
• Strong work ethic, judgment, and willingness to learn
• Dependable and safety-minded
• Comfortable working outdoors and around heavy equipment
• Detail-oriented and good with basic math and measurements
• Comfortable using computers, tablets, and smartphones
• Able to communicate effectively with field and office personnel
• Willing to ask questions, learn, and take ownership
• Willing to travel weekly or temporarily relocate based on project needs. Home most weekends.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in construction, surveying, inspection, materials testing, utilities, manufacturing, the skilled trades, or military service is a plus, but not required.
• Technical-school and community-college graduates are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Observe and document daily construction activities
• Track labor, equipment, materials, quantities, and production
• Prepare daily reports, progress photos, and field documentation
• Measure completed work and help maintain as-built records
• Review plans and specifications with the project team
• Assist with quality-control documentation and testing
• Track material deliveries and usage
• Help document time-and-material and extra work
• Communicate field conditions and project issues to supervision
• Support Superintendents and Project Managers with day-to-day project needs
• Participate in pre-task planning, job hazard analysis, safety meetings, and field inspections
• Help identify unsafe conditions and reinforce Brayman's safety expectations
• Stop and report work when an unsafe condition is observed
