Field CISO

AMDTAlpharetta, GA

About The Position

AMDT is seeking a Field CISO to act as the authoritative voice on OT security, resilience, and asset visibility within their sales process. This customer-facing role requires a practitioner's perspective to bridge the gap between generalist Solution Engineers and the needs of a customer's security and operations leadership. The Field CISO will engage in strategic deals globally, focusing on technical credibility with OT/ICS security leaders, and will also develop enablement resources to support broader sales efforts. Candidates must be located within the Eastern Time Zone (EST).

Requirements

  • 8+ years in OT/ICS security, industrial operations, or plant floor technical leadership.
  • Hands-on experience with backup, disaster recovery, configuration/change management, or OT asset inventory/visibility in a manufacturing, energy, or industrial environment is essential.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, cybersecurity, information technology (IT), or related fields required.
  • Direct, lived experience being on the other side of the table: you've owned OT recovery, change management, or asset visibility as a practitioner, not just studied it.
  • Working knowledge of OT/IT convergence dynamics — how asset inventory data feeds vulnerability management, risk prioritization, and shared governance between OT and IT security teams.
  • Comfort operating as a peer with senior security and operations executives at Fortune 500 industrial and energy companies.
  • Strong communicator who can flex between boardroom-level strategy and hands-on technical depth in the same day.
  • Demonstrated ability to build training/enablement content and develop others, not just carry deals solo.
  • Ability to travel up to 40% to customer sites and industry events.
  • Must be located within the Eastern Time Zone (EST).

Nice To Haves

  • Prior pre-sales, sales engineering, or customer-facing vendor experience preferred, but practitioner credibility is non-negotiable.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the senior technical and strategic voice in customer conversations with CISOs, VPs of OT/Plant Security, and operations leadership, engaging peer-to-peer on backup, disaster recovery, configuration management, and OT asset visibility in industrial environments.
  • Partner with Account Executives and Solution Engineers on strategic and enterprise opportunities, joining at the point where technical credibility and objection handling matter most.
  • Address hard questions on OT-specific risk: segmentation, air-gapped and hybrid environments, ICS attack surface, recovery time objectives in live production environments, configuration drift, and the asset visibility gaps that make all of the above harder to manage.
  • Speak credibly to OT/IT convergence: how asset inventory (Octovision) underpins vulnerability management, risk-based prioritization, and governance as OT and IT security programs increasingly share tooling, data, and accountability.
  • Build mutual close plans with sales teams; help define technical/security exit criteria for late-stage deals.
  • Design and deliver ongoing training for Solution Engineers and Account Executives on OT security, resilience, and asset inventory/convergence topics.
  • Build reusable assets: battlecards, discovery question frameworks, ROI/risk narratives, and competitive positioning across both the established backup/recovery portfolio and the growing asset management/Octovision motion.
  • Act as a coach and technical mentor to the SE organization, raising the baseline OT and OT/IT convergence fluency of the broader team over time.
  • Represent AMDT's point of view at industry events, customer roundtables, and OT security forums — covering both resilience/recovery and the emerging OT asset management/convergence conversation.
  • Feed field insights and customer objections back to Product and Marketing to sharpen positioning and roadmap priorities, including for Octovision as it scales.
  • Stay current on OT/ICS threat landscape, regulatory developments (e.g., NIS2, IEC 62443), OT/IT convergence trends, and competitive movements (e.g., Octave/Cyber Integrity and adjacent players).

Benefits

  • Competitive base salary + commission
  • Medical, dental, vision, and 401(k)
  • Remote-friendly work environment
  • Additional compensation may include annual performance bonuses, incentives, and a comprehensive benefits package.
