This role involves significant travel, providing onsite calibration of test equipment for customers within a specified radius and supporting the local Transcat laboratory when not traveling.

Requirements

Calibration experience and/or equivalent training with commercial and/or biomedical measurement and test equipment (M&TE).
Self-motivator requiring little or no supervision.
Customer service oriented.
Ability to interact with customers & coworkers in a professional manner.
Proficiency with MS Office and the internet; familiarity with basic database functionality.
3+ years driving experience with a valid driver’s license and acceptable driver history.
Associate degree from college or technical school; or 2-5 years of related field experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Strong attention to detail - able to follow written instructions.
Ability to plan and prioritize diversified workload and work independently with minimal supervision.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

Calibrate measurement and test equipment (M&TE) to manufacturers' specifications.
Determine out-of-tolerance conditions for customer M&TE and calibration standards.
Provide corrective action (i.e., adjustments, minor repairs) for out-of-tolerance conditions.
Update and maintain proper documentation of services.
Provide customer with information regarding other services and new equipment provided by Transcat.
Maintain calibration standards.
Provide feedback and updates regarding calibration practices and procedures.
Proficiency in submitting and updating required paperwork for travel and administrative purposes.
Other duties as assigned.
