About The Position

Synergen is seeking a Field Automation & Survey Technician at Hydroline, a Synergen company, located in Bossier City, Louisiana. This position is primarily responsible for supporting the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting of automated control systems used to support water transfer operations and conducting hydrographic surveys. This role may also be responsible for performing a variety of tasks in the district as needed at the discretion of management.

Requirements

  • Understanding of Water Transfer field operations and equipment highly preferred
  • Ability to troubleshoot low voltage systems
  • Ability to monitor SCADA systems using a laptop or tablet
  • Maintain timely responsiveness to all types of communication (calls, texts, email, push notification, group me, etc)
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Must be willing and able to travel up to 20% of the time to support other districts as needed.
  • Current Driver’s License that allows driving a vehicle with a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) of 10,001 pounds or greater

Responsibilities

  • Function as the primary contact in a designated district for technology as it relates to the company’s automation program.
  • Serve as the primary person responsible for the deployment, storage, and maintenance of automation equipment in a designated district.
  • Ensure all standard operating procedures and/or best practices developed to support the company’s automation program are adhered to.
  • Monitor SCADA daily for the purpose of identifying data points that look problematic and ensure they are evaluated and corrected.
  • Tests, calibrates, and troubleshoots digital and pneumatic controls and instruments such as pressure transducers, flow meters, tank level monitors, automated valves, and control panels.
  • Provide technical support to field personnel in a designated district.
  • Conduct water body surveys in alignment with standard operating procedures and/or best practices to gather consistent, high-quality data, to produce best in class deliverables for the customer.
  • Maintain all hydrographic survey equipment in an organized and “work-ready” condition.
