Field Automation Engineer
About The Position
Midera Food Processing is seeking a Field Automation Engineer to support our RapidVisionPak division. This is a hands-on role for a highly technical professional who combines strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills with excellent customer communication. The role involves supporting manufacturing facilities across North America, troubleshooting automated packaging and processing equipment, and working with Allen-Bradley PLC systems. Military veterans with technical backgrounds in electronics, electrical systems, avionics, automation, instrumentation, maintenance, or related fields are strongly encouraged to apply.
Requirements
- Allen-Bradley PLC experience
- Ability to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
- Critical thinker who enjoys solving problems independently
- Comfortable working directly with customers
- Willingness to travel 50-60%, including frequent weekend travel
Nice To Haves
- Technical backgrounds in electronics, electrical systems, avionics, automation, instrumentation, maintenance, or related fields
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot automated packaging and processing equipment
- Work with Allen-Bradley PLC systems
- Diagnose electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and controls issues
- Perform startups, commissioning, and equipment validation
- Train customer personnel and provide technical support
- Serve as the primary technical representative at customer sites
