About The Position

National General is a part of The Allstate Corporation, offering a wide range of insurance products through independent agents and directly to consumers. The Field Auto Claims Adjuster is responsible for creating or auditing comprehensive estimates of damages for 1st and 3rd party material damage claims in either the auto or specialty lines, leading to the proper disposition. This role also involves training, mentoring, controlling quality, and providing technical assistance on material damage claims. The position is based in Rhode Island and requires the candidate to be comfortable working independently in the field.

Requirements

• Strong estimating fundamentals for creating or auditing damage estimates on 1st and 3rd party material damage losses of all severities.
• Deep understanding of the content of all policy types written by the company.
• Experience in field-based auto damage estimating.
• Comfortable working independently in the field.
• Authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Create or audit estimates of damages on 1st and 3rd party material damage losses of all severities.
• Negotiate settlements, make settlement payments, and document all activities in complex files across multiple lines.
• Evaluate settlement alternatives by reviewing regulatory compliance and fair claims practices.
• Make decisions on the best settlement option.
• Build mastered relationships with both internal and external customers across multiple lines.
• Train, mentor, control quality, and provide technical assistance on material damage claims.
