Field Archaeologist- Project Based West Texas
About The Position
R. Christopher Goodwin & Associates, Inc. is seeking qualified Field Archaeologists for a project in West Texas, with potential assignments in other states after the project is completed. The position requires travel to the project area. Single-occupancy lodging and per diem reimbursements are provided; receipts are not required. Applicants local to Texas, New Mexico, and Oklahoma are encouraged to apply. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or a related field.
- Completion of an accredited archaeological field school.
- Experience performing archaeological survey and excavation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work well with others and contribute proactively as part of a project team.
- Detailed note-taking skills.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to and from project lodgings.
Nice To Haves
- Ability to operate GPS units and navigate using USGS maps or aerial photography.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with Project Management and Operations Personnel to execute field work within a large project area and complete documentation of field efforts.
- Coordinate and communicate with other field archaeologists.
