About The Position

The Field Applications Program (FAP) at Texas Instruments (TI) is designed to prepare individuals for customer-oriented careers that blend technical expertise with business acumen. Participants will engage in the Career Accelerator Program (CAP), which offers professional and technical training to ensure long-term career success. The FAST (Field Applications & Sales Training) Program, a component of CAP, specifically targets Sales & Applications team members. It provides experiences to help them understand how to grow TI's business and thrive throughout their careers. There are two tracks within the FAST Program: Field Applications and Technical Sales. The Field Applications Engineer (FAE) track is a 12-month program aimed at developing FAEs into technical experts for both customer engineers and internal teams. This track includes three distinct rotations: Field Sales Office (FSO), Mass Market (MM), and Business Unit/Systems Engineering & Marketing (BU/SEM). Upon successful completion, participants join TI's Worldwide Sales & Applications team as FAEs.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, Electrical and Computer Engineering or related field
  • Cumulative 3.0/4.0 GPA or higher

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, along with soldering and debugging skills
  • Programming skills in C/C++ (LabView recommended)
  • Demonstrated strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

Responsibilities

  • Using various sales tools and relationships with design engineering to identify all potential projects
  • Providing customers with proactive proposals for complete, system-level solutions that maximize TI content
  • Using broad technical expertise to influence customers' part selection process while favorably positioning TI versus competition
