About The Position

Lattice Semiconductor is seeking a Field Applications Engineer (FAE) to support customers in San Jose, CA or Hillsboro, OR. The FAE will be responsible for presenting Lattice products to customers, explaining how they provide optimal solutions for their applications. During the customer's product design phase, the FAE will provide design assistance, including onsite visits to review designs, identify customer problems, and suggest optimal ways to utilize Lattice products. This role involves managing relationships between Lattice and customers by building connections with key individuals at customer accounts and identifying new opportunities within those accounts. The FAE will also give product demonstrations, execute benchmarks to showcase product capabilities and ease of use, and understand competitor strengths and weaknesses relative to technical strategy. Communication of strategies to appropriate field and factory personnel is crucial for obtaining necessary support and coordination. The FAE will assist customers throughout the development cycle to ensure successful product completion and provide timely feedback to the factory regarding product and strategy issues to help Lattice anticipate and respond to necessary changes. This position requires a thorough understanding of business practices and procedures to perform non-repetitive, analytical work and solve a wide range of difficult problems. As an FAE, you will assist customers with the design and implementation of their product requirements using Lattice's FPGA-based solutions. By understanding customer system requirements and guiding them in the use of our products and development flow, you will enable them to bring competitive products to market. This role combines a significant engineering component with interpersonal skills necessary for interfacing with a broad range of customers. Requirements

  • 7+ years’ experience in FPGA and/or ASIC design, including experience designing with VHDL, Verilog, SystemVerilog or other HLD development tools (Radiant, Diamond, Quartus, Vivado, etc.).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong presentations skills, and the ability to work with multiple groups and projects.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a customer support or customer facing role a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Giving product presentations to the customer describing how Lattice products provide the optimum solution to their application.
  • Providing design assistance during customer product design, including onsite visits to review designs, examine customer problems, and provide suggestions on optimal ways to use Lattice products.
  • Managing relationships between Lattice and customers by establishing relationships with key individuals at accounts.
  • Identifying and developing new opportunities within accounts.
  • Giving product demonstrations and executing benchmarks to show product capabilities and ease of use.
  • Understanding competitor's strengths and weaknesses relative to the appropriate technical strategy.

  • Assisting customers with the design and implementation of their product requirements utilizing our FPGA based solutions.
  • Enabling customers to bring competitive products to market by understanding their system requirements and guiding them in the use of our products and development flow.
