Field Applications Engineer (Fluid Dispensing)
About The Position
We are looking for an experienced Field Applications Engineer, Fluid Dispensing to join Axxon, part of Mycronic's High Volume Division. Axxon is a leading global provider of precision dispensing and conformal coating solutions for electronics manufacturing. Axxon develops advanced automation systems that support manufacturers across industries including consumer electronics, automotive, semiconductors, medical devices, and telecommunications. The Field Applications Engineer, Fluid Dispensing serves as a key customer‑facing technical expert, supporting demonstrations, system buyoffs, process development, and troubleshooting. In this role, you will work closely with customers throughout the entire engagement cycle-providing pre‑sales technical support, leading machine demonstrations and buyoffs, and delivering post‑sales assistance that ensures successful system performance. In addition, you will play a critical role in diagnosing and resolving machine issues, offering higher‑level process guidance, and building strong relationships with customers by helping them achieve optimal results with our fluid dispensing technologies. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands‑on engineering, problem‑solving, and working directly with customers to deliver innovative, high‑quality solutions. This role is located in San Jose, CA.
Requirements
- 2-3 years of fluid applications/process engineering or field where interacting with customers in technical projects preferred
- Industry-specific experience and familiarity in Conformal Coating or SMT processes
- Understanding of basic electronics to be used during troubleshooting
- Strong customer service, sales, and marketing experience skills
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as Engineering, Chemistry or Computer Engineering or related field preferred
- Experience in working with chemicals and solvents preferred
Responsibilities
- Handles customer day-to-day calls and Communication via email, phone, and if required in-person
- Provides post-sales process and system support
- Troubleshoots machine issues over the phone or on the customer floor
- Assists in process optimization at customer site or over the phone or email
- Interacts with the overseas factory to solve machine issues
- Conducts system demos at the office either with the customer present or by processing parts and returning finished parts with a detailed report
- Develops and optimizes applications that effectively accomplish client objectives and user needs
- Acts as a technical advisor to Sales and Service groups
- Interacts with the overseas factory to solve machine issues and discuss new projects requirements
- Demonstrates systems and communicates with customers at tradeshows
- Provides contributions to the system manuals and other forms of documentation
- Acts as a resource for the sales team during customer meetings
- Communicates with customers verbally and via email to understand the new project requirements
- Prepares system configurations to be quoted
- Collects feedback opportunities for hardware and software improvements
