About The Position

This position will be dedicated to supporting QIAGEN’s core instruments and chemistries in the field, which will include instrument installations and customer training, on-site troubleshooting, demos, and other pre- and post-sale technical support in the assigned territory. This role requires a highly motivated, customer-focused technical professional who can serve as a trusted resource for customers while supporting QIAGEN’s commercial and technical objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in biological sciences or equivalent
  • 3-5 years of laboratory and automation experience
  • Extensive practical/lab experience
  • 3-5 years in technical sales or field-based customer support functions
  • Deep knowledge of wet lab molecular biology and genomics workflows
  • Comprehensive technical knowledge and understanding of molecular biology, including DNA/RNA purification, PCR, cloning, and sequencing
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Commitment to customer satisfaction
  • Customer-facing personality, including the ability to build positive relationships and engage in scientific discussions with customers
  • Strong desire to work with customers to understand their experimental needs and recommend QIAGEN solutions that accomplish their scientific goals
  • Ability to travel overnight (mostly domestic) an average of 70-80%, 3-4 days a week
  • Candidate must reside within reasonable proximity to a major airport to support rapid travel and deployment
  • This role will primarily support the Mid-Atlantic region, including Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, and the District of Columbia; however, travel outside of this region may be required based on business needs (Candidate ideally will be based in D.C, Maryland, and Northern Virginia)

Nice To Haves

  • PhD or Master’s degree in molecular biology or a related field
  • Experience with qPCR
  • NGS, and dPCR applications
  • Robotic programming and technical training experience
  • Experience with CRM software (particularly Salesforce.com)
