About The Position

SCIENION is seeking a customer-focused Field Application Scientist to join our Global Service & Support team. In this role, you will combine scientific expertise with technical problem-solving to support customers throughout the lifecycle of our advanced dispensing and instrumentation platforms. You will install instruments, provide application and technical support, deliver customer training, troubleshoot complex issues, and work closely with Sales, Service, and Product teams to ensure an exceptional customer experience. This position requires frequent travel to customer sites and offers the opportunity to work with leading researchers and organizations in the life sciences industry.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's, Master's, or equivalent degree in Life Sciences or a related scientific discipline.
  • Professional experience in a life sciences, biotechnology, or laboratory environment.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer relationship skills.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Willingness to travel more than 50% domestically and internationally.

  • Experience supporting scientific instrumentation or laboratory automation systems.
  • Experience providing customer training and technical demonstrations.
  • Familiarity with laboratory workflows and application development.
  • Experience documenting technical procedures and maintaining quality documentation.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating across global cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Install SCIENION instruments at customer sites and perform Site Acceptance Testing (SAT).
  • Provide on-site and remote application support for customers using the sciFLEXARRAYER platform.
  • Troubleshoot technical and application-related issues to ensure optimal instrument performance.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, repairs, and system upgrades.
  • Deliver customer training on instrument operation, applications, and best practices.
  • Support the Sales team by providing technical expertise during customer evaluations and demonstrations.
  • Prepare customer quotations for service and application support when required.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and recommend corrective actions for recurring issues.
  • Gather customer feedback and communicate improvement opportunities to internal teams.
  • Maintain accurate service documentation, including service reports, troubleshooting records, user manuals, training materials, and ISO documentation.
  • Manage customer cases and communication through the Helpdesk ticketing system.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across Service & Support.
