About The Position

The Teradyne Field Applications team is looking for a highly motivated, energetic and driven Field Application Engineer, who will work collaboratively with the team as well as independently to determine and develop imaginative, thorough, and practical application solutions. This role involves developing, debugging, and deploying test solutions for Analog and Mixed Signal semiconductor devices, including test program software development, load board/probe card schematic design and layout review, and analyzing problems to optimize customer throughput. The engineer will also work with customers to improve test processes, make recommendations for test coverage quality, and manage the release of test solutions to production, including correlation and gauge R&R. Key responsibilities include understanding customer requirements, conceptualizing hardware and software designs, electrical hardware schematics, and PCB/hardware design inputs. The role also involves developing new techniques for characterizing and testing semiconductor devices, demonstrating tester capability, assisting customers with tester operation, providing training and technical papers, and developing strong customer relationships at a technical level to understand their direction and needs. A general understanding of ATE industry trends and competitive products is a plus.

Requirements

  • Bachelor or higher degree in Electrical / Computer Engineering or related fields.
  • 8-12 years of experience of semiconductor testing Industry and hands on experience on IC component testing project development.
  • Must have Test / Product engineering experience in Analog and Mixed Signal testing and test development on ATE (Automated Test Equipment) platforms.
  • Strong understanding of general software programming (preferred .NET – C#, VB, and/or C++, C, Java) and common algorithms.
  • Proficient in Windows and Excel.
  • Possess team skills and has ability to work independently as well.
  • Strong analytical skills and practical problem-solving skills.
  • Solid presentation skills.
  • Strong proven interpersonal skills and commitment to teamwork and “can-do” spirit.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred to have development experience on Eagle Test Systems platforms, such as, EV / EV-MST.
  • Knowledge on handler and prober interface experience will be a plus.
  • General understanding of ATE industry trends as well as competitive products and product positioning will be a plus.
  • Supervisory experience in leading teams (locally and globally) with past experience in employee management may qualify for senior position.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, debug and deployment of test solutions for Analog and Mixed Signal semiconductor devices.
  • Test program software development, often done in collaborative environment.

  • Assist customers on tester operation and capability.
  • Provide training, technical exchanges and technical papers.
  • Develop strong customer relations at a technical level, to gain further insight to direction and needs of the customer.
