As a Fibermaking Operations Section Supervisor, you will lead a 24/7 manufacturing operation producing Single Mode Optical Fiber and waveguide products, building high-performing teams and driving the safe, reliable, and cost-effective execution that keeps our production running at its best.

Requirements

  • BS or MS in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial) preferred; OR current or projected enrollment in college-level coursework with 4+ years of experience in a manufacturing leadership role.
  • 2+ years of direct people leadership in a manufacturing or operations environment
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and execute improvements to key safety, quality, or production performance metrics
  • Experience managing production in a 24/7 shift environment, including availability for off-hours support on a rotating schedule

Responsibilities

  • Lead a 24/7 manufacturing operation across shifts — ensuring safe, reliable, and cost-effective production of Single Mode Optical Fiber and waveguide products.
  • Coach and develop a team of Shift Supervisors and Production Associates to build accountability, strengthen organizational capability, and sustain high performance.
  • Set operational priorities and make real-time decisions to resolve production constraints, quality concerns, process issues, and equipment disruptions.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, Planning, and Technical teams to support business priorities, planned and unplanned downtime, and preventative maintenance.
  • Own the area’s continuous improvement strategy — identifying and executing initiatives that drive measurable gains in safety, output, labor productivity, and operating cost.
