About The Position

CubCrafters, an industry leader in light aircraft manufacturing, is seeking a Fiberglass Technician to support the fabrication, trimming, assembly, repair, and finishing of composite aircraft components.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous experience working with fiberglass, carbon fiber, composites, automotive body repair, aerospace manufacturing, boat building, or related manufacturing processes preferred but not required.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, work instructions, and specifications preferred.
  • Ability to use measuring tools and hand tools safely and effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated reliability and regular attendance.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally and perform physical work including standing, walking, bending, kneeling, reaching, climbing, and repetitive motions for extended periods.
  • Ability to work under warehouse and production conditions where work is performed with regular exposure to varying indoor and outdoor temperatures
  • Ability to work around composite materials, resins, solvents, dust, and manufacturing equipment.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, including respirators, gloves, hearing protection, and safety glasses
  • Ability to obtain and maintain all required security clearances, badges, and background check eligibility necessary for airport/TSA-regulated access.

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate composite aircraft components using fiberglass, carbon fiber, and associated composite materials in accordance with engineered prints.
  • Perform layup, trimming, bonding, assembly, and finishing operations according to engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Prepare molds, tools, and materials for composite manufacturing processes.
  • Mix and apply resins, adhesives, fillers, and other composite materials.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, vacuum bagging equipment, and curing equipment.
  • Inspect parts for dimensional accuracy, workmanship, and quality requirements.
  • Complete required production and quality documentation accurately and timely.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with company 5S and safety standards.
  • Assist in training and cross-training activities as required.
  • Trim composite parts to final dimensions using hand tools, pneumatic tools, routers, saws, grinders, sanders, and other approved equipment.
  • Follow engineering drawings, trim templates, work instructions, and specifications to ensure dimensional accuracy.
  • Perform edge finishing, sanding, drilling, countersinking, and preparation of composite components for assembly.
  • Inspect trimmed parts to verify conformance to quality standards and engineering requirements.
  • Identify and report defects, dimensional discrepancies, or workmanship concerns to supervisor and Quality personnel.
  • Maintain trimming tools, fixtures, templates, and workstations in a safe and organized condition.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts to improve trimming efficiency, quality, and repeatability.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Pay Range is $18.00 to $23.00, per hour depending on experience.
