About The Position

The Fiberglass Production Technician manufactures fiberglass and composite components using molds, resin, hand layup, and laminating processes. The role prepares, lays up, finishes, and inspects fiberglass parts used in industrial manufacturing. Training is provided for candidates who have the ability and willingness to learn. The listed starting pay is $20.00 per hour.

Requirements

• Ability to read and understand shop orders and time sheets.
• Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division with whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to read a tape measure.
• Ability to use tools safely and properly.
• Ability to perform the stated physical demands, including lifting, standing, walking, reaching, and working in limited spaces.
• Ability to work safely and follow workplace safety and health rules and policies.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED.
• Previous fiberglass, composite, manufacturing, fabrication, or production experience.
• Ability to read and interpret English-language safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture fiberglass and composite parts using hand layup and laminating processes.
• Prepare and grind fiberglass parts for layup and finishing.
• Select and use appropriate resin, fiberglass materials, molds, and tools.
• Read blueprints, test sheets, and production instructions.
• Inspect finished fiberglass laminations for trapped air, dry spots, resin pools, dimensional accuracy, and other quality defects.
• Use hand tools and measuring equipment to complete production work.
• Tag product and have a supervisor or team lead inspect it.
• Perform additional duties as assigned depending on location and product line.
