About The Position

The Fiberglass Fabricator is responsible for cutting, grinding, and drilling fiberglass components for door products using a variety of hand, power, and air tools. Fabricators will review daily requirements and work instructions via an iPad to accomplish their tasks. Safety is paramount in this role, and candidates must demonstrate the ability to uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards.

Requirements

  • Ability to work the Monday - Thursday 4:30am - 3:00pm schedule.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to read and interpret reports, work instructions, and blueprints.
  • High attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize workload and manage more than one task at a time.
  • Ability to safely operate a forklift.
  • Must be able to read and use a standard tape measure as well as other measuring tools.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds frequently and 100 pounds occasionally.
  • Squatting, kneeling, and standing frequently.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Cut, grind, and drill fiberglass components for door products using a variety of hand, power, and air tools including chop saws, grinders, and drill press.
  • Read and follow blueprints, work orders, and other instructions to build and assemble parts accurately and in a timely fashion.
  • Ensure the quality and accuracy of manufactured parts.
  • Keep the work area clean and organized.
  • Troubleshoot issues that may arise.
  • Uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards.
