The Fiberglass Chop Gun Operator will safely control the chop gun to produce quality products. This role involves operating chop guns in accordance with SOPs and the Operations Manual, understanding different materials and their application, and knowing when to wax molds. The operator is responsible for ensuring sufficient material supply for the week, using a laminate thickness gauge to check part thickness, and producing the required quantity of parts within established time, specifications, and tolerances. The position also requires measuring finished parts with tape measures and fixtures to ensure compliance with specifications, marking and cutting parts correctly according to the cut sheet, and ensuring molds are in good working condition and cleaned before return. Maintaining logs of produced units, including errors, inspecting and performing basic maintenance on equipment, and ensuring guns are kept clean and any leaks are reported are also key functions. The operator will identify malfunctions, adjust controls to correct errors, inspect and measure completed units for defects, and start/restart equipment using specific calibration steps. The role includes using a grinder to cut parts, reading blueprints and tape measures (imperial and metric), reporting daily on time and material usage, and maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly work area in compliance with company policies.
