About The Position

The Fiberglass Assembly will safely control various machines and equipment involved in production. This role involves operating production machinery, ensuring parts meet specifications, maintaining logs, performing basic maintenance, and adhering to company policies.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required
At least one year of related experience required
Ability to follow directions and work well in a team
Must be able to read and use a tape measure
interpret and translate engineering designs and documentation
Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn production equipment
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Understanding of and the ability to abide by applicable OSHA and environmental regulations
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
Good communication skills relative to supervisor and other related departments must read and write in English to fill out daily reports
Prolonged periods working on feet, using tools, and performing repetitive actions that entail frequent bending and stooping.
Required regularly to use hands to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms.
Must be able to squat, stand, stoop bend down, for long periods of time.
Required to occasionally climb or balance; stoop, kneel, and crouch; and talk or hear.
Must be able to lift, push, pull a minimum of 75lbs and maximum of 100lbs.
Visual acuity to read instructions, operate machines, and inspect parts produced.

Responsibilities

Operates production machinery in accordance with prints and specifications. Assigned machines may include lathes, grinders, mills, and similar equipment
Produces the required quantity of parts within established specifications and tolerances
Measures finished parts with precision tools, ensuring compliance with function, quality, and cosmetic specifications
Maintains logs and records of units produced including a record of errors resulting in rejected or discarded pieces.
Inspects equipment prior to use to ensure proper setup and alignment; performs basic and routine adjustments and maintenance
Sets up production machines following prints and specifications. Assigned machines may include lathes, grinders, mills, and similar equipment
Chooses, aligns, and securely attaches holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and other materials on machines
Applies knowledge of mathematics and instruments to calculate dimensions and tolerances
Identifies malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining; adjusts controls of machine to correct errors
Inspects and measures completed production units to identify defects caused by machine setup
Starts or restarts equipment after power outages or interruptions
Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly work area
Complies with Company policies and procedures
