About The Position

CoastConnect is seeking a Fiber Technician to help deliver reliable, high-speed fiber internet services to residential and business customers throughout our service area. The Fiber Technician will install, maintain, and troubleshoot fiber optic services and customer equipment while providing exceptional customer service. This position will work both independently and as part of a team to ensure subscribers receive the highest level of service and network reliability.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent is required; a high school diploma is preferred.
• Valid Mississippi driver's license required.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Basic computer and technology skills.
• Ability to work safely at heights and in varying outdoor conditions.
• Technical proficiency and willingness to learn fiber optic installation, testing, and troubleshooting techniques.
• Ability to work overtime, evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call assignments when required.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making abilities.

Responsibilities

• Install and activate fiber optic services for residential and business customers.
• Troubleshoot service, connectivity, and equipment issues.
• Perform fiber splicing, testing, and maintenance activities.
• Configure and program customer premise equipment, including routers, ONTs, and Wi-Fi devices.
• Interpret maps, service records, and technical documents.
• Educate subscribers on CoastConnect products, services, and equipment functionality.
• Support network reliability through on-call and emergency response activities.
