Our work depends on a Fiber Technician joining our team to installs, tests, troubleshoots, repairs, and removes network fiber components. Performs layout, installation, termination, labeling, testing, and certification of all associated fiber components and ensures compliance with program, industry and base standards.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
2+ years of related experience
Fiber optic networking tools such as voltmeters and other diagnostic equipment.
Secret security clearance.
Certified Fiber Optic Technician (CFOT). Must possess or be willing to obtain within 60 days of employment.
Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving and collaborative skills.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and multi-task while still ensuring high quality of work.
Supports the timely escalation and communication of status to external and internal customers.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills applied to the development and presentation of technical materials appropriate to a broad spectrum of audiences.
Adept at interfacing with Government at senior leader levels and representing the interests of GDIT.
US Citizenship Required

ITIL V3/4 Foundation or higher

Responsibilities

Installs, tests, troubleshoots, repairs, and removes network fiber components.
Performs layout, installation, termination, labeling, testing, and certification of all associated fiber components.
Ensures compliance with program, industry and base standards.
Provides technical advice and guidance on installation, adaptation, configuration, and/or enhancement of company technical products, programs, and systems.
