About The Position

Metronet is seeking an energetic Fiber Technician in Tallahassee, FL, to join the future of connectivity. This role involves performing basic to advanced installations, disconnects, and service changes for high-speed internet and phone services for residential and business customers. The technician will also provide basic troubleshooting and repair for services from the fiber terminal or ONT to the customer's electronic devices. Requirements

High School Diploma or GED.
Physical ability to work from a kneeling or standing position for long periods.
Physical ability to work in various conditions, including attics, crawl spaces, and adverse weather.
Physical ability to climb ladders with proper equipment up to 25 feet (safety belt, safety strap, hard hat, and other equipment as needed).
Able to lift and carry loads of up to 75lbs including a ladder.
Ability to work with basic hand tools and other specialized equipment with training.
Operate and maintain company vehicle/equipment safely and professionally.
Valid driver's license/satisfactory driving record.
Willingness to work as a team and independently.
Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.

Nice To Haves

Experience with a telecom / fiber company preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Install and troubleshoot all Metronet services from the terminal to Customer Premise Equipment (CPE).
Provide in-depth customer education on all Metronet products and services.
Earn commissions by explaining Metronet services and products to all customers.
Maintain professionalism with customers and fellow associates.
Work towards meeting key performance metrics.
Perform on-call rotation duties after regular business hours.
Be available to work overtime when deemed necessary, including holidays and weekends.
Be available to travel for training or as needed.
