About The Position

The Fiber Technician is responsible for installing, fusion splicing, terminating, testing, troubleshooting, and maintaining fiber optic cable systems within data center environments. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering high-quality work. Requirements

• Experience using fusion splicers (e.g., Fujikura, Sumitomo)
• Experience using specialized hand tools
• Reliable transportation and commute to the office daily
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to climb ladders
• Ability to stand or kneel for extended periods
• Excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
• Strict adherence to OSHA standards
• Strict adherence to fiber handling safety (shards/lasers)
• Strict adherence to traffic control protocols

Nice To Haves

• Experience working in data centers
• Technical certification in telecommunications

Responsibilities

• Installing fiber optic cable systems
• Fusion splicing fiber optic cable systems
• Terminating fiber optic cable systems
• Testing fiber optic cable systems
• Troubleshooting fiber optic cable systems
• Maintaining fiber optic cable systems
• Calculating fiber attenuation values
• Interpreting complex OTDR traces to identify and troubleshoot faults
