The Fiber Splicer will be responsible for preparing and splicing fiber optic cables, locating problem areas, and performing other repairs as needed. This role requires proficiency with fusion splicers and fiber test equipment. The Fiber Splicer will also install and maintain transmission and reception equipment for the FTTH network, as well as network systems for private lines, determining solutions for any issues that prevent service operation. Additionally, the Fiber Splicer will initiate test and turn-up procedures with System Engineers, collect and interpret engineering documentation, support field maintenance teams, provide demand and preventive maintenance for the fiber network & FTTH, maintain proper network documentation, and troubleshoot MDF/headend issues with 3rd party providers. The role involves working within the engineering team to ensure all connections meet required specifications and participating in an on-call schedule rotation as required. Other duties may be assigned.
