About The Position

We are hiring experienced Fiber Splicers to support data center buildouts, expansions, and infrastructure upgrades. This role is responsible for performing fusion splicing, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation on high‑count fiber networks within controlled data center environments. The position requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently with moderate guidance while continuing to develop advanced splicing and testing capabilities.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of hands‑on fiber splicing experience required
  • Proficiency with OTDR, OLTS, and fiber certification tools (EXFO, Viavi, Fluke, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of fiber color codes, loss budgets, and optical standards
  • Ability to read and interpret fiber schematics and data center documentation
  • Experience working in data centers, central offices, headends, or POPs
  • Excellent organizational and time‑management skills required
  • Ability to take ownership of tasks and drive them to completion
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to learn new proprietary software and maintain accurate documentation
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs, work overhead, and navigate cold/hot aisle environments
  • Valid driver's license and ability to pass background checks required for data center access

Nice To Haves

  • Ribbon splicing and mass fusion splicing
  • Structured cabling (Cat6/Cat6A) and pathway systems
  • DWDM/CWDM or transport equipment turn‑ups
  • Experience in hyperscale or enterprise data centers
  • OSHA 10/30 or manufacturer‑specific fiber certifications

Responsibilities

  • Perform fusion splicing using industry‑standard equipment
  • Build, dress, route, and label fiber trays, panels, cassettes, and patching infrastructure
  • Conduct OTDR, OLTS, and power meter testing and generate accurate test result documentation
  • Read and interpret fiber design maps, splice plans, rack elevations, and data center prints
  • Execute fiber cutovers, repairs, and migrations with minimal downtime
  • Maintain compliance with data center safety, security, and cleanliness standards
  • Complete as‑built documentation, splice logs, redlines, and material usage reports
  • Coordinate with internal teams, network engineers, and other trades on‑site
  • Troubleshoot fiber issues quickly and accurately in live environments
  • Support cable routing, rack/stack, and pathway installation as needed
  • Demonstrate flexibility in work schedule and perform other duties as assigned
