  • Comfort working directly with customers during design reviews, lab evaluations, and onsite troubleshooting.
  • Self-motivated, accountable, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to influence design decisions through technical expertise and data-driven recommendations.
  • Strong presentation and technical reporting capabilities.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 25%.

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of hyperscale data center architecture, server racks, networking switches, and structured cabling systems.
  • Experience supporting product compliance, inspections, audits, certifications, or regulatory evaluations.
  • Experience with hyperscale data center deployments.
  • Familiarity with NVIDIA, Arista, Cisco, Juniper, Broadcom, or similar networking ecosystems.
  • Experience with AI/HPC rack infrastructure or integrated rack solutions.
  • Knowledge of UL, CE, IEC, GR-63, GR-1089, ISTA, ASTM, and related qualification standards.
  • Certified Fiber Optic Technician (CFOT), FOA certification, or equivalent industry certification.
  • Hands-on experience with prototype fabrication and testing.
  • Experience working with global suppliers and contract manufacturers.

Responsibilities

  • Own optical connectivity integration across rack-level solutions, including transceivers, DACs, AOCs, fiber trunks, breakout assemblies, patch panels, and switch-to-server interconnects.
  • Develop and maintain fiber routing, bundling, strain-relief, labeling, installation, and serviceability standards for air-cooled and liquid-cooled rack solutions.
  • Lead root-cause investigations into optical communication failures during prototype validation, factory testing, shipment, deployment, and customer operation.
  • Support customer escalations involving optical performance, network bring-up, transceiver compatibility, link instability, signal degradation, and deployment-related failures.
  • Establish troubleshooting methodologies and failure-analysis procedures using optical power meters, OTDRs, BER testing, insertion-loss measurements, switch diagnostics, and transceiver telemetry.
  • Create rack-level fiber optic installation guides, work instructions, service manuals, qualification plans, and best-practices documentation.
  • Collaborate with networking, electrical, mechanical, and manufacturing engineering teams to optimize fiber routing and ensure manufacturability and field serviceability.
  • Support qualification and validation testing of integrated rack solutions, including transportation, shock, vibration, and environmental testing where optical performance must be maintained.
  • Partner with compliance and certification teams on UL, CE, NFPA, and other regulatory requirements affecting fiber optic and networking infrastructure in rack systems.
  • Participate in customer meetings, technical reviews, onsite deployments, and data center visits to support implementation and issue resolution.
  • Work with transceiver suppliers, switch vendors, cable manufacturers, and networking technology partners to resolve product and interoperability issues.
  • Support factory test development and manufacturing procedures to ensure consistent optical installation quality and repeatable system performance.
  • Train manufacturing personnel, field service teams, and customers on approved fiber handling and installation practices.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on optical network reliability, deployment efficiency, and reducing field failures.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
