Fiber Optic Splicing Intern Program: This Fiber Optic Intern Program guides interns from foundational field skills to advanced splicing and testing of complex fiber networks. Interns begin by learning fiber optic tools, safe handling, installation practices, and basic cable preparation, including proper storage, labeling, and conduit support. The program then advances to splicing support and basic testing, where interns assist with splice enclosure preparation, butt and mid‑sheath splicing activities, and use OTDRs, light sources, and power meters to verify continuity and splice quality. In the final phase, interns develop advanced splicing and troubleshooting skills, working with high‑fiber‑count cables (144–288 count), supporting complex splice configurations, and generating and reviewing bidirectional OTDR reports to diagnose signal loss and validate network performance.
