About The Position

Markertek, a div. Tower Products Incorporated, is a highly specialized broadcast and pro-audio supply house serving the technical side of the media industry. We are currently looking for a Fiber Assembly Technician to join our growing TEAM! The ideal candidate has passion, the know-how, and the desire to take behind-the-scenes customer service to the next level. It’s a responsive and responsible attitude that our customers count on. The Fiber Assembly Technician is responsible for assembling high-performance fiber optic cable products using precise manufacturing and termination techniques. All technicians receive training in fiber optic fundamentals, including cable preparation, termination, and assembly processes. Candidates who demonstrate strong aptitude and attention to detail will have the opportunity to advance into precision polishing and high-performance finishing techniques. This position is ideal for individuals who take pride in craftsmanship, quality, and continuous improvement in a clean, technology-driven manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and interpret work instructions, procedures, and technical documentation
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, especially with part numbers and measurements
  • Mechanical aptitude and comfort using hand tools and assembly equipment
  • Solid math, time management, and basic computer skills
  • Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions with consistency
  • Effective communication skills and a professional, team-oriented mindset
  • Commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement

Responsibilities

  • Assemble fiber optic cable products with a focus on quality, consistency, and efficiency
  • Perform cable preparation, termination, and processing according to established procedures
  • Conduct mechanical inspections
  • Perform basic continuity testing prior to final QA approval
  • Ensure all assemblies meet strict cleanliness and performance standards
  • Follow detailed work instructions, part numbers, and production documentation with accuracy
  • Communicate effectively with team leads to maintain and improve product quality and workflow
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the Fiber Lab
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace consistent with lab and clean-room standards
  • Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and deadlines
  • Adhere to guidelines for safety, PPE, tool use, etc.
  • Read and follow the employee manual distributed by Tower Products Incorporated and the Quality Policy Statement.
  • Wash hands when shifts are completed
