About The Position

With 30 years of experience, Charah Solutions, Inc. is a leading provider of environmental and maintenance services to the power generation industry, with operations in coal-fired and nuclear power generation sites across the country. Based in Louisville, Kentucky, Charah Solutions assists utilities with all aspects of managing and recycling ash byproducts generated from the combustion of coal in the production of electricity as well as routine power plant maintenance and outage services for coal and nuclear energy providers. The company also designs and implements solutions for ash pond management and closure, landfill construction, fly ash and slag sales, and structural fill projects. This position is responsible for operating the control panel for the FGD Operation.

Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Informative and professional assistance when working with customers and co-workers.
  • Ability to act independently and to originate new procedures and new approaches to problems.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain initiative to maintain the flow of work.
  • Ability to work under stress and with commitment to deadlines.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Operate the control panel system using automation controls including computer touch screens and computers to start/stop the systems as needed.
  • Able to monitor systems and identify conditions that could cause an upset situation and resolve them with little or no downtime.
  • Monitor product quality and adjust the system to maintain quality specifications.
  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance on equipment.
  • Keep the assigned area organized and clean.
  • Learn, follow, and promote all safety regulations of Charah and its customers.
  • Must have the ability to communicate clearly, listen and understand information through spoken words and sentences to ensure full comprehension of job duties, safety regulations, and other situations that may require an immediate response.
  • Communicate with the main plant operations and/or Supervisor as needed for close coordination of equipment operation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
