About The Position

Port Aransas Ferry is seeking dedicated Security Officers to join their team at the Port Aransas Ferry Terminal. This role is vital in maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming atmosphere for commuters, visitors, and terminal staff. The ideal candidate is dependable, attentive, and thrives in an active, public-facing environment, taking pride in strong situational awareness, excellent customer service, and protecting the local community.

Requirements

Strong customer service, communication, and de-escalation skills.
High level of reliability, punctuality, and personal integrity.
Sharp situational awareness with the ability to handle dynamic situations calmly and decisively.
Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions and standing/walking for extended periods.
Ability to pass required background checks and meet state security licensing requirements.
High School Diploma and/or equivalent (GED).
Must be willing to submit to a background and drug screen; any offer of employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a background investigation.
Minimum 1 year of prior relevant experience as a security officer and/or an LEO.
Texas Level II Security License required.

Responsibilities

Direct pedestrian and vehicle traffic safely through terminal entry points, parking areas, and boarding lanes.
Conduct foot and mobile patrols of terminal grounds, perimeters, and facilities; monitor security cameras, alarms, and access-control systems.
Swiftly identify, respond to, and report safety hazards, suspicious activities, medical emergencies, or security incidents according to established site protocols.
Serve as an approachable, courteous ambassador for the ferry terminal, assisting passengers, employees, contractors, and local emergency personnel.
Accurately complete Daily Activity Reports (DARs), maintenance logs, and detailed incident reports in a timely manner.
Provide authorized escorts for contractors, equipment, and sensitive deliveries while regularly inspecting for fire and life-safety hazards.
