About The Position

The Fellow supports the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of programs within the Chicago Public Schools Department of Principal Quality’s School Leadership Pipeline. The pipeline develops educators at multiple stages of school leadership, from early exploration and aspiring-leader development through assistant principal and principal readiness. The Fellow works primarily across at least two initiatives: the Chicago Leadership Collaborative (CLC), which partners with principal-preparation programs to recruit, prepare, support, and place aspiring principals in yearlong residency experiences; and the Aspiring Assistant Principal Institute (AAPI), which provides yearlong, practice-based professional learning for CPS educators at varying stages of assistant principal readiness. As the pipeline evolves, the Fellow may also support aspiring-leader programming, principal residencies, mentor development, stakeholder engagement, leadership-readiness evidence, program evaluation, and partner collaboration. This is an in-person role based at the CPS Central Office at 42 W. Madison St, Chicago, IL 60602. Occasional travel to CPS schools, off-site meeting spaces, and partner locations across Chicago is required. Some events or support activities may occur before or after standard work hours, and the Fellow must arrange reliable transportation to these locations. CPS employees must reside in Illinois and within Chicago city boundaries within six months of hire, maintaining Chicago residency throughout employment.
