About The Position

This position is 50% clinical and 50% Fellowship/training. The candidate will provide care 5 sessions per week including general primary care and/or in the FAB Center. The remainder of the time will include additional time in the FAB Center working with the interdisciplinary team, longitudinal specialty rotations, and the academic enrichment activities. The fellow will be expected to complete at least one scholarly product such as submission of a poster or paper and participate in one QI project with the FAB Center team. About the Jefferson FAB Center for Complex Care: Adolescents, post-adolescents, and those well into adulthood often face significant challenges finding the right fit as they switch from pediatricians to adult providers. Individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, or other complex childhood-onset conditions, are especially impacted during the transition. Jefferson’s FAB Center for Complex Care, located at Jefferson Health – Navy Yard, provides a comfortable space for our care teams to work with patients and help guide them as they continue to grow. The highest quality of primary care is given to patients with, but not limited to, the following conditions: Autism Cerebral Palsy Cystic Fibrosis Down Syndrome Spina Bifida

Requirements

  • MD/DO or equivalent
  • Have completed a Family Medicine or Medicine-Pediatrics residency program
  • Have strong interest in caring for patients with complex-childhood onset conditions ages 12 and above
  • Have prior experience in working with/providing care to such individuals during their medical training and/or in community settings
  • Have strong primary care skills
